OTHER ACTIVITIES AT IN STITCHES

Quilts of Valor
Quilts of Valor (QOV) are quilts made for the soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can go to the web-site: www.qovf.org to learn more about them. I will provide the fabric, backing and batting to you at 50% off. If you have fabric you want to use, I’ll still provide the backing and batting at 50% off to you.

Carolyn provides the quilting, you’ll bind, launder, label the quilt and make a pillowcase. When completed, bring it back to the shop and we will take care of the shipping.

Quilts are in great demand, so if you can help out with one, it will be greatly appreciated!

Million Pillowcase Challenge
Million Pillowcase Challenge

We are participating in the Million Pillowcase Challenge sponsored by American Patchwork and Quilting. So far, we have donated a total of 65 pillow cases to Rushville’s Victim’s Assistance and Hope House in Greenfield. The pillowcases can be made for children, men and women. They should be full size. If you need a pattern, we will be happy to provide one.

You can also go to www.allpeoplequilt.com to get more information on the project.

Conkerr Cancer Project

This is a project for kids at Riley Hospital suffering with cancer. We are a drop off point for it as well. There are some rules for pillow cases going there:

  • Wash and dry with unscented laundry products
  • Pressed
  • Placed in a quart size resealable plastic bag

Conkerr Cancer ProjectAlso, Pepsi is donating an amazing $1.3 million each month to great ideas and projects that make a difference in the USA.

ConKerr Cancer’s project – Bring smiles to EVERY kid hospitalized with cancer across the USA. – has been accepted as one of the projects to be voted on during the month of April . They can receive $50,000 if they get enough votes. Go to www.refresheverything.com/conkerrcancer and vote everyday in April. This small effort on your part can bring some happiness to seriously ill hospitalized children all over the US.

Thank you for your help!!!
