Classes

We have many CLASSES from which to choose. Check out our selection below, then call or stop by our shop to pre-register.

CLASS POLICY: You must pre-register for all classes. To avoid disappointment, register as early as possible. Registration deadline is one week before the class. Please pick up a supply list and purchase your supplies before the class meets. At least 3 people are needed to register for the class to meet. The class fee will be refunded only if the class is canceled. If you have to cancel, please let us know. Samples are on display at the shop. Machines are available for you to use, just let us know if you’d like to use one. Purchasing supplies at “In Stitches” will entitle you to a 10% discount on them. Also, due to the fact that many people have allergies, we request that you not wear perfume to class. If you have any questions regarding the above policy, please call or stop by.

Victory Quilt BOMVictory Quilts NEW!
Victory Quilts is going to replace Thimbleberries Club this year. We will be meeting the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11 am and at 6:30 pm. This will start January  8. The cost for the class is $25 plus book and supplies. Register by December 19.

Mystery Quilt #8 NEW!
The fun continues! This quilt again uses 2 ½” strips. Use fabric from your stash, use a jelly roll or let us cut them for you. Bring your machine, basic quilting supplies and lunch! One 4 hour session.

Date: Saturday, January 24
Time: 10 am- 2 pm
Cost: $12 plus pattern and supplies

Beginning Sewing
Make a pair of pajama pants while learning to sew or brushing up on skills. This class will cover how to read a pattern, how to lay out a pattern on fabric, and other basics.  Two  3 hour sessions.

Dates: January 22 & 29
Times: 10 am – 1 pm
Class fee: $18 plus book, pattern and fabric

Machine quiltingMachine Quilting on your own machine NEW!
Learn how to machine quilt on your home sewing machine. You will learn how to transfer a quilting pattern to fabric, how to pin baste as well as quilting the project. When completed, the square can be made into a pillow. One 2 hour session.

Flap PurseFlap of the Month Purse NEW!
This purse pattern has a fun feature – interchangeable flaps! Create the purse and any number of flaps to change the look for seasons or for fun. Learn how to machine appliqué and/or make chenille appliqués. Two  4 hour sessions.

Smart handbagThe Smart Handbag
Start by making a basic purse and change the look by making covers for it! The purse is fully lined, has a zipper closure, shoulder strap or double handles and a removable cover! It is truly a versatile purse! Two sessions.

Quick Trip Quilts
Learn Eleanor Burns method of making a trip around the world quilt. Two sessions.

Dates: Feb. 3 & 17
Time: 10 am – 1 pm
Class fee: $18 plus book and supplies

Learn the basics of quilting – rotary cutting, quilting by hand and machine while making a simple project. The book you will use is Quilting with Confidence by Nancy Zieman. Two 4 hour sessions.

Spring Embroidery Wall HangingSpring Embroidery Wall Hanging NEW!
Bring your embroidery machine and work on this cute wall hanging for spring! Three 4 hour sessions.

Dates: Jan. 15, Feb. 5 and Mar 5
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Class fee: $27 plus CD and supplies

Intermediate Sewing NEW!
Make a jumper for spring! Refresh your sewing skills as well as learning about fitting, taking measurements, pattern markings and fabric selection. Three sessions.

Quilts of Valor
Quilts of Valor (QOV) are quilts made for the soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can go to the web-site: www.qovf.org to learn more about them. I will provide the fabric, backing and batting to you at 50% off. If you have fabric you want to use, I’ll still provide the backing and batting at 50% off to you. 

Carolyn provides the quilting, you’ll bind, launder, label the quilt and make a pillowcase. When completed, bring it back to the shop and we will take care of the shipping.  
Quilts are in great demand, so if you can help out with one, it will be greatly appreciated!

Super Bowl Sunday Sale
Our annual Super Bowl sale will be on Sunday, February 1 from noon to 5. Fabrics, patterns, books, notions and sweatshirts will be 25% off. Fat quarters will be 20 for $25. You must purchase 20 to receive that price. Any over 20 will be $1.25 each. You can come in the week before to select fabrics if you wish. We will hold them until Sunday for you. If the Colts are in the Super Bowl, be sure to wear your licensed Colts apparel and receive an additional 10% off your total purchase!
