About In Stitches

In Stitches opened in September of 2003. The building was constructed for an Allis-Chalmers Dealership on the west side with the sales of Studebaker cars on the east side of the 8,000 square foot structure. The previous business here was a restaurant with meeting rooms, family dining area and dance floor and bar. No structural changes were In Stitches Quilt Shop owner, Cathymade to the building for the quilt shop. The bulk head that was over the bar area has been made into a wonderful space for sample displays. The dance floor area is home to sweatshirts, books, patterns, notions and Dakota Collectibles display.  The wall space also has become a home to a wide array of other samples and panels. The family dining side is now our classroom for various classes and club meetings.

In October of 2003, The Candle Barn moved into one of the meeting room areas. Andrea Jacobs’ shop offers a variety of candles, melts, melters, balloons, and scented wax dipped bears.

August of 2005 brought in Carolyn’s Quilting Studio. Carolyn Messer purchased a long-arm quilting machine which occupies the other meeting room area. She enjoys doing edge to edge designs and meandering. Her hours are M, W & F from 10 am – 4 pm.

A short 2 ½ years later, we have over 750 bolts of quality quilting fabric from Moda, Benartex, Thimbleberries (RJR), Troy, Loralie, Clothworks, Northcott and Windham.  We also have a large selection of cotton tea towels and panels.

I want quilters that stop here to have fun and enjoy the fabrics. We hope to see you soon and that you enjoy your visit!

Happy Quilting!
Cathy
